Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data NovelVerse (novelverse.co, "we") collects, why, who helps us process it and what rights you have. NovelVerse is the controller of this data for the purposes of the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and, where it applies, the EU and UK GDPR.
What we collect
When you read without an account
Nothing that identifies you is stored on our side. Like every website, our servers and our hosting provider receive your IP address and browser details with each request; they are used to deliver pages, stop abuse (rate limits, bot protection) and fix errors, and they are kept only in short-lived logs. Visit statistics come from a cookieless analytics service that does not build a profile of you.
When you create an account
- Account details: email address, username, profile picture and, if you sign in with Google, the name and picture Google shares. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider; we never see them.
- Reading activity: your library (bookmarked novels), reading progress, the novels you follow for new-chapter notifications, and your notifications. Signed-in reads also count, without your name, towards the "trending" lists.
- What you post: comments, reviews, likes and votes, and reports you send about other content.
- Premium: your subscription's plan, status and dates, and the customer ID Stripe gives us. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach us.
- Support: what you tell us when you write to us.
Why we use it

We do not sell your data, show ads or use your data to train AI models. The translation tools we use only receive the text of the novels, never data about readers.
Who processes it for us
- Sign-in provider: accounts, sessions and the emails with sign-in codes.
- Hosting and content delivery providers: the website, our servers and database, images, bot protection and cookieless analytics.
- Stripe: payments, invoices and the billing portal. Stripe also acts as an independent controller for payment and fraud checks, under its own privacy policy.
- Google: only if you choose "Sign in with Google".
These providers are located outside Brazil and the European Economic Area, mainly in the United States. Transfers rely on the safeguards they offer, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Account data, reading activity, comments and reviews: until you delete your account.
- Server and security logs: up to 30 days.
- Billing records: Stripe keeps the customer record and invoices for as long as tax and accounting laws require, also after you delete your account.
- A deleted account's username is kept on a list of retired names, so nobody else can take it and pretend to be you.
- Deleted data can survive in backups for a limited time, until they are overwritten.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, ask what we do with it and who we share it with, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can change your profile picture and delete the whole account yourself from Account → Profile; the username and email cannot be changed there. For anything else, including corrections, write to privacy@novelverse.cofrom the email address of your account; we answer within 15 days. You can also complain to the Brazilian data protection authority (ANPD) or to the authority where you live.
Children
NovelVerse is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, write to us and we will delete it.
Cookies
We only use the cookies and local storage needed to sign you in and to remember your settings. See the Cookie Policy.
Changes
We will update this page when what we collect or who processes it changes. The date at the top shows the latest version; important changes are also announced on the site.
