"Since Li Shouyi is dead, his promotion is no longer under consideration."
"The government might suspect that there is a demonic sect here because of his identity, which will keep the locals in check for a while."
Tang Yunsheng quickly made a decision. He had risen through the ranks step by step and was decisive in his actions.
"As for the three of you, take out your tokens."
The three handed over their tokens, which had the word "Deacon" written on them. Tang Yunsheng went to the statue of the Immortal and bowed three times. His hands glowed with golden light as he muttered something quickly and vaguely.
He brushed the tokens, and the word "Deacon" changed to "Helmsman."
As an inspector, Tang Yunsheng had the authority from the higher-ups to arrange the ranks of Helmsmen and below.
It wasn't Tang Yunsheng's idea to make Lu Yang and the others Helmsmen; it was a decision from the higher-ups. He wasn't sure which higher-up it was, but he heard it was a decision made at the level of the deputy sect leader or even higher. He was just the one carrying out the orders.
