After Paying the Price of Time
Seeing the sword master take out a long sword that he had not used even when fighting the leader, I asked, "Senior, what sword is that?" The sword master replied, "It's the sword of my predecessor. I don't use it much, but I should take it out at times like this."
"What's its name?" "It's called the Bright Sword."
The name of the sword did not match the title of the sword master.
Was there some story behind it? Expecting a refusal, I suddenly made an unreasonable request to the sword master.
"Senior, may I take a look at the sword?" The left servant looked at his master in surprise.
The sword master looked at me and smiled as he replied, "You want to take a look?" I accepted the Bright Sword that the sword master offered.
It did not have a peculiar appearance.
It felt ordinary yet neat.
There were no special patterns, and the scabbard and handle were nothing out of the ordinary.
Overall, the mix of black and indigo gave it a slightly strange feeling, but the most striking part was its weight.
"Why is it so heavy?" "It's on the heavier side."
I gripped the body with my left hand and drew the Bright Sword.
