I reviewed the answer sheets from last week’s test and revised the curriculum for this semester.
"Hmm..."
As expected, the score gap between the students was wide. From students who turned in blank papers to those who skillfully dodged the traps I'd set and came close to the correct answers. I decided to set the lecture level based on the median student, aiming just a little higher.
If I set it too low, the top students would get bored, and if I set it too high, the bottom students would give up. I could just give the top students separate advanced assignments. The problem was the bottom students.
‘It's a shame, but I can't cater to everyone.’
If I lowered the lecture level for the bottom students, the rest of the students would suffer. The most I could do was provide them with a list of supplementary reading to bolster their foundational knowledge. The rest was up to their own effort and perseverance.
"May they see the light, even if it's later on."
I finished writing the curriculum with a short prayer. After that, just for fun, I checked the list of high scorers.
"Ooh..."
There were quite a few familiar names.
[2nd Place: Marco Upperhills] [9th Place: Lim Upperhills] [10th Place: Belita Upperhills] I thought I’d seen some familiar faces during class.
‘They’re the kids from our school.’
And many of them were in the top ranks.
Hehe.
