As the story unfolds, it was as if all the events were merely a performance. Miss Cao, acting akin to a foolish female supporting character from an old romance novel, finally dared to lay hands on Han Yanyan. On her way home after a long night of work, Han Yanyan was forcibly taken into a van. Even as they blindfolded her and stuffed her mouth, she couldn’t help but sigh; this was a classic trope, straight out of those old stories.
Once trapped in a dilapidated warehouse, Han Yanyan endured the frustration of Miss Cao’s verbal abuse. The girl tugged at her hair, slapped her a few times, and kicked her twice. It hurt, but thankfully, there was no dramatic scene of the malicious female character seeking revenge on the main character in the worst possible way. Han Yanyan felt relieved.
In the past, when she was a ghostwriter, she had steadfastly refused to write such convoluted plots, even if it meant making the supporting female character appear foolish. Her editor had scolded her for lacking excitement. Despite this, she stood her ground, deeming it too lowly to include.
