“Elder Zhou, since that farewell long ago, your humble servant has thought of you day and night. Yet why do you hold no sentiment for past ties? Your strike is so ruthless! My heart aches terribly!”
Her voice was soft and teasing as she lightly waved her hand, causing the tendrils of black smoke swirling like snakes all around to dissipate into nothingness.
“Be it human or demon, I, Zhou Qian, have awakened my ghostly senses. I no longer care for past lives.”
“Whether it’s love or hatred, I, here and now, devote myself entirely to the path of ghosts, with no other intention.”
Zhou Qian’s face was solemn as he said, “I beg you, show mercy and allow me a moment’s respite!”
The woman smiled faintly, nodding her head as she spoke softly, “Very well. Elder Zhou, since you have awakened the Ghost Vein and do not care for the past, I shall not force this any longer. But it is said that humans and ghosts are worlds apart, and people and demons two different paths. Yet our demon and ghost sects have never been at odds. I have come today for but one matter. I beg you, Elder Zhou, please assist us.”
