Chapter: The Wrath of Hera - (3)
Hercules questions me.
"What do you mean by that?"
"First, you know that your father is Zeus."
"Yes. My adoptive father was the same... and my mother and Chiron as well..."
Indeed, he had been extraordinary since childhood, so it was impossible to hide it.
"You have drawn Hera's wrath since the moment you were born."
"That's because I am a bastard..."
"That is true, but you were also cradled in Zeus's hands and nursed by Hera. I had you submerged in the River Styx because her wrath could strike you at any moment."
"Excuse me?! Are you saying that Hades... and that I am the child of the queen of the gods...?"
Hercules is flustered.
I revealed the truth to him.
"Yes. Of course, the reason I submerged you in the River Styx was not only that; it was also because you are destined to become a hero."
"......"
"It was because I calculated that if you received the power of the Styx, you would not easily die."
"I had an inkling, but... this is more shocking than I thought. Could it be...?"
Hercules hesitates, clearly taken aback.
He is learning the truth about his birth for the first time.
"Then do you know what you must do when you leave here?"
"Is it because of Hera's wrath towards me?"
"Yes. Go to Hera's temple and bow down to seek forgiveness. You have done nothing wrong, but you must do this."
