Time passed swiftly, and before he knew it, over a month had gone by.
After receiving instructions from Master Zhao Shifan, he set up a humble grass hut just outside the mansion, devoting himself wholly to studying the art of "picking flowers in the mirror."
For more than a month, during the daytime he would head into the mountains to gather some fruit to fill his stomach.
Once full, he would focus entirely on his research.
Yet no matter how hard he studied, he could not unravel the method—how flowers could bloom in the mirror, or how one might pluck them.
One day, as Zhao Shifan was, as usual, foraging for fruit outside to satisfy his hunger, he suddenly caught sight of a man.
This person had come to the mountain after him to apprentice under the real master.
Zhao had once shown him the way, so the two shared a certain bond.
They talked for quite some time when they met that day.
Through their conversation, Zhao learned that the man had already become a disciple of the Real Immortal.
This left Zhao feeling a little dazed and confused, also unwilling to accept it.
