He unexpectedly sat across from him so casually.
Xie Lian blinked a few times, taking quite a while to confirm that this man was indeed speaking to him.
He quickly regained his composure, reminding himself not to be intimidated by the man’s aura.
He remained calm and polite, saying, “Unfortunately, I’m currently refraining from alcohol. I’m afraid I cannot treat you to a drink.”
The man in red burst into laughter, leaning back comfortably. “Is that so? From my observation, you seem to carry a cloud of worry on your face. You might need a drink to lighten your mood.”
Xie Lian replied without revealing much emotion, “I believe you are mistaken.”
While the biggest rule had already been broken, he couldn't let go of all his smaller ones.
He maintained an indifferent expression, but the man did not seem to intend to leave.
Instead, he settled down and said, “Since you won’t invite me, shall I take the liberty then?”
Xie Lian glanced at him and then around the surroundings.
It was odd.
There were plenty of empty spots; why did he have to pick this place to drink? But there was no reason to refuse, so he said, “Please, go ahead.”
With that, the man waved lazily, and the waitstaff, clearly in awe of such a guest, hurriedly brought out the wine and cleaned the table diligently, worried about neglecting him.
