#164 In This Country, Only I Can Do It It took over five hours of driving from Seoul to finally reach Gyeongsan.
"Elder, are you home?"
Jang Dae-ho was a man of great wealth, but his house was more modest than expected. Section Chief Ma pressed the worn doorbell and raised his voice. Though he rang the bell, the answer came directly from the yard.
"Who is it?"
The gate opened, and a white-haired old man emerged. Jang Dae-ho had a small build and looked more ordinary than expected. Section Chief Ma bowed his head deeply and greeted him.
"Good day to you. I am Ma Seok-dae. My boss wished to meet you, so we came to find you."
"And who might this boss be?"
I got out of the car and approached as their conversation began.
"Good day, Elder. I am called Kim Mu-hyeok. I know it is rude, but I had no way to contact you, so I came down without an appointment. I apologize."
Jang Dae-ho, who had been staring at me without a word, finally spoke.
"So you are the one they call the successor to Chairman Cheon Tae-san? Come in, then. You have come a long way, so I should at least give you time for a cup of tea."
"Thank you."
I followed Jang Dae-ho as he turned leisurely and walked toward the house. Unlike its appearance from outside, the interior of the house was clean.
"Elder, you have guests?"
Someone who looked like a housekeeper poked her head out from the kitchen.
