Azure Wave Star, Virtual World.
At dawn, Central Plaza District.
The towering Azure Wave Evolution Ranking stood there, with a middle-aged man sitting casually on a chair, his eyes occasionally glancing at the list.
His name was Pei Lu, a member of the Pei family from Azure Wave Star.
The Pei family was a well-known family of evolvers on Azure Wave Star.
Evolvers were divided into two types: Unique Evolvers and Common Evolvers.
Unique Evolvers further branched out, including bloodline evolvers.
Bloodline evolvers were the foundation for many evolver families.
Their abilities evolved through hereditary bloodlines.
Compared to other evolvers, cultivating for bloodline evolvers was easier, largely around unlocking the potential of their bloodlines.
But there was a downside too: their bloodline limit was also their limit.
Until they reached that limit, they wouldn't face much difficulty, but upon reaching it, breaking through was almost impossible.
The Pei family was a third-tier bloodline evolver family.
"I wonder why the head of the family pays so much attention to the evolution ranking," Pei Lu muttered, feeling a bit bored.
In ten minutes, the ranking would update.
Ever since that evolution path called Martial Evolution Path entered the top 100 over six months ago, the family head ordered him to watch for any changes daily and report back immediately.
Not just the Pei family, other forces on Azure Wave Star also began monitoring the ranking.
The Azure Wave Evolution Ranking wasn't merely about rank; the various evolution paths it recorded would shape the future landscape of Azure Wave Star.
For example, when citizens wanted to become evolvers, they naturally chose a path from the ranking.
Evolvers from the same path felt an innate closeness, forming groups over time.
And then, if the path's creator stepped forward, they could easily gather followers and establish a significant force.
The hundred evolution paths on the ranking represented the most powerful hundred forces on Azure Wave Star, with influence reaching nearby star domains.
Half a year ago, Martial Evolution Path suddenly rose to prominence, entering the top 100 and stunning many.
In just a few months, many citizens had embraced the Martial Evolution Path.
Though no one had yet reached the grandmaster stage on this path, time would tell.
Since the path was confirmed by the three Goddesses, its progress shouldn't have errors.
"Martial Evolution Path..."
Pei Lu's interest piqued slightly.
He had studied this path's "Innate Stage" and "Grandmaster Stage" and understood its advantages—mainly its low entry barrier.
Unlike other paths requiring various external potions or specific environments, the Martial Evolution Path primarily required consistent practice.
Entering the grandmaster realm might demand some talent, but the innate stage was attainable for one in every three to four thousand citizens.
"Unfortunately, its limit is only third-tier," Pei Lu commented, shaking his head.
Though his own bloodline was third-tier, the bloodline world on Azure Wave Star had occasionally seen bloodlines with fourth or even fifth-tier limits.
"Recently, Martial Evolution Path has improved from ninety-third to seventy-eighth place. Perhaps its creator perfected some concepts?" he pondered but didn't dwell on it.
The Azure Wave Evolution Ranking was divided into four levels:
- The top ten were one level.
- The ranks eleven to thirty were another.
- Thirty-one to fifty formed the next level.
- Fifty-one to a hundred consisted of the last level.
The difference between ranks fifty-one to a hundred wasn't vast, with all paths generally peaking at the third tier.
For centuries, no new paths had entered the ranking, yet movements within the lower half sometimes occurred.
"Martial Evolution Path's potential is fixed, sitting in the ranking's fourth level. Perhaps evolvers of this path will eventually form a force and dominate Azure Wave Star?" Pei Lu speculated while stroking his chin.
Suddenly, the characters on the majestic ranking began blurring.
"It's updating."
Pei Lu focused intently.
Around the plaza, others also cast their gazes towards it.
Soon, new characters emerged.
Driven by curiosity, Pei Lu immediately looked to the seventy-eighth spot.
"Hmm? Where is the Martial Evolution Path?" he wondered, his mind filled with unease.
Unable to find it, he scanned downward: seventy-ninth, eightieth, ninetieth, hundredth.
His face changed.
Could it have been removed by the Goddess of Wisdom?
Hesitantly, starting from the seventy-eighth rank, his eyes moved upward.
Seventieth, sixty-ninth, sixtieth, fiftieth.
He didn’t spot it even after seeing all ranks up to fifty.
"What's going on?" Pei Lu furrowed his brows.
Meanwhile, he noticed commotion among others in the plaza—some even stood up, eyes fixed on the ranking's top.
"What’s happening?" Confused, he too looked at the top ten spots.
With just one glance, Pei Lu found that the eighth spot now read—Martial Evolution Path.
"What?" His eyes widened in disbelief.
Wasn't it at seventy-eighth yesterday? He was shocked and immediately checked the eleventh spot, where the Titan Evolution Path had been.
Now, it was pushed to eleventh.
"This... this is major!" Pei Lu swallowed nervously and swiftly contacted his family head with the news.
Water Moon District, House 32.
A stranger stood at the door.
"Hello, Mr. Lin Yuan, here's your purchase. You can open it with your fingerprint."
Lin Yuan accepted the sealed alloy box, swiping his finger across its top.
"Beep! Fingerprint verified," an electronic voice announced.
Lin Yuan took the box, noting its lightness.
Without the energy waves inside, he might've thought it was empty.
"As expected of cosmic treasures," Lin Yuan smiled.
The energy waves inside were akin to both sun and moon powers, nearly matching those in the True Martial Sword.
"If you confirm the item is correct, please sign."
The delivery man reminded him, clearly envious.
Though unaware of the box's contents, he knew it was of the highest value, worth at least ten million Civilization Coins.
Such wealth was rare.
After Lin Yuan signed, the delivery man left.
Lin Yuan carried the box to his underground training field.
With a click, he opened it, revealing two boxes made of special transparent metal, one fiery red and the other deep blue.
"So beautiful," Lin Yuan admired briefly before starting his cultivation.
Two days later, in the training facility, Lin Yuan sat cross-legged.
Before him, both sun liquid and moon marrow were mostly consumed.
"Second-tier limit," he suddenly opened his eyes, gazing at them with satisfaction.
Thanks to these treasures, he restored all his strength in just two days.
