Even though the Fire Tooth Dog wore a face full of displeasure, it still obediently walked over.
Qiao Sang crouched down and patted the Fire Tooth Dog's head.
The Fire Tooth Dog squinted its eyes in comfort, completely forgetting its earlier grumpy mood.
"It's too easy to please," Qiao Sang couldn't help but sigh.
"Fire Tooth Dog, go and team up with the Plump Dove," Qiao Sang instructed.
"Tooth!"
The Fire Tooth Dog let out an excited bark, turning around with newfound determination in its gaze.
From now on, anyone who said fire-type beasts were ill-tempered would have Qiao Sang as their first opponent!
"Use Charge!" Qiao Sang commanded directly.
She didn’t care if the girl across from her was prepared. Did one really need to announce, "I'm going to attack you now," before a fight?
This was her first cooperation with the Fire Tooth Dog, and she had no intention of losing.
With great effort, the Fire Tooth Dog surged forward in an instant.
Xu Linglan's gaze was fixed on the duo. She suppressed her urge to curse and quickly reacted, "Desert-Tailed Fox, bind it with your tail!"
The only reason the Fire Tooth Dog had succeeded in its earlier Charge was that Xu Linglan had been focused on the Plump Dove. Now that she was aware of the Fire Tooth Dog's presence, she had prepared for it.
At less than a month old, the Fire Tooth Dog's speed seemed slow in the eyes of the Desert-Tailed Fox.
The Fox leisurely extended its tail, over two meters long, waiting for the Fire Tooth Dog to come closer.
"Plump Dove, carry the Fire Tooth Dog up into the sky," Qiao Sang ordered immediately.
While the Plump Dove was not the fastest among flying companion beasts, compared to the young Fire Tooth Dog, it was much quicker.
Even though the Fire Tooth Dog was in a charging state, the Plump Dove quickly caught up and lifted it into the air.
Xu Linglan was startled, unsure of what Qiao Sang’s intention was.
"Tooth?" even the Fire Tooth Dog couldn't understand.
This was the first time it was working with Qiao Sang and the Plump Dove, and it clearly had not reacted yet.
"Just throw the Fire Tooth Dog onto it," Qiao Sang spoke calmly.
The Plump Dove hesitated.
After all, it was not Qiao Sang's beast, and it didn't immediately throw the Fire Tooth Dog onto the Desert-Tailed Fox.
Qiao Sang felt a bit helpless as she was about to give another command, but just then, the Plump Dove executed Qiao Sang's order.
This was clearly not a good time. With three seconds elapsed since Qiao Sang gave the instruction, the opponent had more than enough time to respond.
The Fire Tooth Dog flew straight toward the Desert-Tailed Fox, and Qiao Sang's heart skipped a beat. Just as she wanted to shout for the Fire Tooth Dog to dodge, there was no movement from the opponent.
Xu Linglan didn't instruct the Fox to do anything.
Qiao Sang was baffled, but that didn't prevent her from giving commands.
"Charge at its neck with the Tooth of Fire!"
The main reason Qiao Sang chose the White Sand Fox was its low defense. Even its evolved form, the Desert-Tailed Fox, was the same.
Unlike the powerful tail, the body of the Desert-Tailed Fox was extremely fragile. Any small injury caused it much pain, and its neck was its most critical weakness.
"Dodge!" Xu Linglan finally realized what was happening.
But it was too late.
The searing flames enveloping the sharp teeth snapped down on the Desert-Tailed Fox’s neck.
"Fox!!"
The Desert-Tailed Fox let out a piercing scream, its fur standing on end. Its body thrashed wildly, trying to shake off the Fire Tooth Dog.
Yet, the Fire Tooth Dog clung on, stubborn as a patch.
"Jump away," Qiao Sang ordered.
Without hesitation, the Fire Tooth Dog leaped off the Desert-Tailed Fox, landing to the side.
In the next moment, the Desert-Tailed Fox swung its powerful tail mercilessly toward itself.
Without the Fire Tooth Dog on it, that strong tail struck directly at the Fox.
"Fox!!!"
Having already suffered a neck injury, the Fox was further wounded by its own tail.
"Calm down, Desert-Tailed Fox!" Xu Linglan exclaimed in a panicked tone. She couldn't believe how quickly the situation had turned. The Fox was in so much pain it couldn't heed her words.
"Plump Dove, Wing Slash!" Qiao Sang pressed the attack.
Wing Slash was a special skill of flying companion beasts that transformed their wings into sharp blades, a move most flying beasts learned.
"Dove."
The Plump Dove stared blankly at Qiao Sang with its gray eyes.
It didn't know how.
...
Though Qiao Sang couldn't understand what the Plump Dove was saying, she read its expression well enough.
"Use Air Blade," Qiao Sang instructed, not hesitating for a moment.
With a flap of its wings, six blades formed from the condensed air rushed forward.
"Desert-Tailed Fox! Dodge!" Xu Linglan thought frantically.
The amber-eyed Fox shrank back, its eyes narrowing as it saw the blades slicing through the air. Ignoring the pain, it tried to sidestep.
Four of the blades still struck it.
"Fox!!"
The Desert-Tailed Fox swayed, about ready to topple over.
"Fire Tooth Dog, Charge!" Qiao Sang said.
The Fire Tooth Dog had been raring to go, and with the command, it gathered all its strength and lunged at the Desert-Tailed Fox.
Like the last straw that broke the camel's back, the Desert-Tailed Fox's eyes rolled back as it collapsed.
Completely crushed...
Xu Linglan's legs went weak, and she sat down.
Throughout the fight, the Desert-Tailed Fox had simply been a target for continual attacks.
Xu Linglan's mind was hazy. She was going into her third and final year of high school next semester, and yet she had suffered such a pathetic defeat to a newcomer Beast Master.
It didn't matter that she lost one against two; what shocked her was that she hadn't even released a single skill.
Xu Linglan could see that this fierce girl didn't even know what skills the Plump Dove had, and the Fire Tooth Dog didn't have anything special either.
She was completely defeated by Qiao Sang’s commanding ability...
Qiao Sang paid no mind to the girl's reaction. She hugged the rushing Fire Tooth Dog and smiled, "You did great."
"Tooth!"
"Tooth, tooth!"
The Fire Tooth Dog excitedly gestured towards Qiao Sang.
Qiao Sang's expression turned strange.
The Fire Tooth Dog jumped onto the ground, opened its mouth, and bared its teeth, as flames flickered around its fangs.
In the next moment, the flames disappeared, and it eagerly gestured to Qiao Sang again.
"Are you saying you've never successfully used the Tooth of Fire before?" Qiao Sang asked.
The Fire Tooth Dog nodded continuously.
Yet she had clearly seen in the Beastmaster Codex that the Fire Tooth Dog could use the Tooth of Fire skill.
Qiao Sang was puzzled and connected her consciousness to the Beastmaster Codex.

Qiao Sang's eyes lit up; the values had changed!
Both Charge and Tooth of Fire, along with the points, had all transformed.
In fact, upon closer inspection of the values behind the Tooth of Fire, Qiao Sang already had a guess in mind.
