Eastern part of the Border City, Qinghe District, beside the entrance of an unremarkable old street.
The figure of Little Red Riding Hood emerged from the shadows cast by a nearby building and spotted Yu Sheng waiting at the street corner.
“Are you alone today?” The young girl glanced around and, seeing only Yu Sheng standing there, asked somewhat surprised.
“They stayed behind to guard the house—after all, I’m just here to check on the situation of this 'Dark Alley.' Coming alone is enough,” Yu Sheng replied casually. “Besides, if anything urgent happens, I can open the door and call for backup anytime.”
He paused, looking at Little Red Riding Hood. “How’s your progress? Have you contacted the person who posted the original thread?”
“I’ve traced the party involved—it’s an independent investigator named 'Sun Chen,' with no affiliation to any Spirit World detective organization. He lives in the Beishimen District but hasn’t been reached yet,” Little Red Riding Hood said. “But we should get results soon enough—it won’t affect our operation today anyway.”
Yu Sheng nodded.
Recently, Little Red Riding Hood had been investigating the person who, three years ago on the border communication network, posted about witnessing a strange tower.
The progress was fairly smooth.
