The city center was bustling beyond measure, but on the side where Enkrid had moved, there were hardly any people. The atmosphere was completely different, yet Enkrid enjoyed the moment. A butterfly flaunted its red wings as it passed before his eyes.
Beyond where the butterfly flew, a long flower bed stretched into view. Such flower beds had been installed all over the city, and blooming upon them were yellow or orange blossoms that caught his gaze. It was beautiful.
This was the Holy Gold, called the Virgin’s Flower. Not that it truly held divinity—just the language of flowers said so. Was it not said to be a flower blessed by the gods for the beauty that exists upon the earth?
Thus Holy Gold signified not only the Virgin, but also a saintess or a saint. For those who are born with divinity through the direct blessing of the gods are indeed saintesses and saints. Before the flower bed, several maple trees also came into view.
Red-tinted leaves had scattered and fallen upon the ground. It was truly a road pleasant to walk. It was a newly paved road on the outskirts of the city, and no commercial establishments were to be seen.
