Enri loaded up a few items that would sell and be useful beyond the obsidian and talismans that could be called western specialties, and set out on the road. He had expected from the start that it wouldn't be easy, but it was truly grueling. So much so that he wondered if this was how it was supposed to be.
It wasn't that he had given up halfway, but the anxiety that made his mouth go dry never went away either. Even so, he had to press on stubbornly. That was what he had decided, and he knew better than anyone that this was an opportunity.
'Captain.'
Gripping the bow Enkrid had given him, Enri thought he couldn't be a fool who missed his chance. He needed a wagon and a mount to carry the goods. Since Velopters were useless outside the west, he needed horses.
'There's not enough krona.' With his pockets far from full, Enri obtained donkeys and cargo carts instead of horses. There were ten such carts in total, and though the load was considerable, the donkeys and the appearance of those setting out were shabby.
"Don't worry."
"We're going together."
What was fortunate was that the western twins, from the western tribes, came along as escorts. In terms of military strength, they were far from lacking. A few extra hands from the Oasis Village were also hired.
