If Barnas had barely beaten Ragna into a near-death state, Cowin ran to save his own life.
"Well, you really are something."
The barbarian's voice came from behind, but he ignored it and fled. He didn't even glance back once. If he turned his head now, he felt like that gray monster's head would be chasing him, axe in hand.
It was like an ostrich burying its head in the sand when it feels threatened, or a pheasant hiding its head in the grass. Seeing or not seeing didn't change whether Rem chased him or not.
The difference between Cowin and an ostrich or pheasant, however, was that Cowin had legs that had reached the level of strong legs using Will. Of course, ostriches have their own acute hearing, so burying their heads isn't just stupidity, and pheasants hide their large heads but expose their eyes to use their sharp sight, but outwardly, they look dumb.
Just like Cowin running away now. Cowin squeezed out all his strength and ran like mad. He was even drooling but didn't even notice.
He activated strong legs and wasted Will. He just burned through it, heedless of whether his limit was approaching. He didn't even have time to break into a cold sweat.
His balls shriveled and he felt like pissing himself. And then, as he was running. Cowin was lucky.
