Dersia gently dismantled my body. I had turned off my Tide Sense and refused to even look, so I wasn’t sure exactly what had happened… but it was clear that almost every part of me had been reconstructed.
Thinking I had become a modified human, I stepped down from the blood-spattered operating table, nearly naked, and placed my feet on the floor. The same ground, the same sensation.
“It doesn’t feel very different.”
“Of course, the outward appearance would be the same.”
Dersia answered as if it were obvious and rubbed her own body.
“But now, feeling a little cold won’t hinder your movements or threaten your life.”
“Is that so…”
To be honest, it was just as cold, but the coldness no longer felt like pain… no, like a discomfort. It felt as if my entire constitution had changed. Curious about this new feeling, I moved my body around and asked.
“It is merely a temporary solution, so you will not be able to withstand it if it gets too cold. Please be aware of that.”
“Yes. But what exactly did you do? This is quite fascinating.”
“Just, well… I rearranged the structure a bit. Yes.”
“?”
“It is not very important. I can assure you there are no problems.” …That’s unsettling.
For now, since she said it was fine, I let it go and re-checked the situation as I put on my robe.
“Still, things are going better than I thought.”
