Chu Ge, having flaked on a day's update, had gone home to scramble over his manuscript; today's chapters wouldn't even start going up until noon.
The group chat didn't mind the delay—as long as he updated, all was well: "Big Chu, you're over your illness? Rest up more, don't push so hard today."
Chu Ge looked at that and felt thoroughly ashamed; all he could answer was, "I'll do my best today..."
So women really do slow down your typing speed. And he'd told the first lie of his writing career, too. Other things were eating up his time today as well—the Writer Assistant interview had come in.
He'd already read the questions last night. They were the sort that expected chicken-soup answers.
For example: "You update ten thousand words a day—that must be exhausting, right?"
Chu Ge played right along: "No women in your heart, and your writing turns divine."
"Your earlier books never reached premium, and it took three books before you got the results you have now. Can you tell us how you managed to keep going?"
