Before this book was published, I was a bit nervous, unsure if this kind of folkloric and eerie story would resonate with readers on Qidian.
Now, after a month, the response has been quite heartening.
Whether it's the reader engagement, the number of readers, or the monthly votes, recommendations, and collections, everything has far exceeded my expectations.
Especially towards the end, it even managed to climb to the top of the new book rankings, holding the first place for a day and a half.
Unfortunately, due to the word count limit, it dropped off the list the next day.
But my wish was fulfilled, and I felt a quiet satisfaction.
Moreover, let's not beat around the bush.
I know what everyone is concerned about, so I'll make it clear here.
First, regarding the word count, my previous two books were a bit short.
I could make excuses, saying that the outline was just like that, or that the story idea was fully explored without dragging it out.
But the readers are always right—short is short.
So, the first thing I want to assure you is that this book will definitely be longer, with a minimum of three million words, aiming for four to five million.
That's my promise.
(I must mention, even though "The End of Mystery" was short, it still got nominated for the Galaxy Award, hmph!)
Next, about the updates.
During the new book period, I've basically been delivering full chapters of 3,000 words each.
I'm not the type to do massive updates, but I'll strive to maintain a steady pace.
Under the premise of maintaining quality, I'll aim for a steady update of over 6,000 words daily, with occasional extra updates depending on my state or if I need to push for better results.
As for today, there will be two updates after midnight, and another three updates at noon.
In short, following a book is fun, but cliffhangers can be frustrating.
I'll do my best to make sure you enjoy the read, without cutting off at crucial moments.
