In the past, on the night Isaac’s high-difficulty examination was held, Grand Duke Daat entered Dean Magarta’s office.
“There must be a good reason for calling someone as busy as me here.”
“Of course.”
Without any delay, Magarta got straight to the point. The thesis defense would be two-on-two, with the Dean and Isaac each taking on one opponent.
“…What?”
Grand Duke Daat clenched his teeth.
“Why should I join forces with you? I can handle both of them by myself.”
“Both of them? That’s laughable. What about the secret Isaac told you concerning the gravitational contraction and age of stars? Have you figured it out yet?”
“…”
Daat’s lips twisted after the remark struck home.
“You’re so serious about astronomy that you built a telescope over ten meters long, all because of a single question from Isaac. That’s laughable.”
“…”
“And you still haven’t found what you originally set out to find. In this situation, you think you can defeat Isaac?”
“…Even if everything you said is true, there’s no guarantee that you’ll be of any help to me.”
“Do you think so?”
Whoosh.
The Dean left a note in front of Daat.
“This is…!”
