What was the connection between the Doppler effect of light and electromagnetism? For days, Doloren had stood before the blackboard, mulling over the advice Isaac had left behind.
"What exactly am I missing?"
Her theory seemed flawless. If space itself could expand, it would explain the redshift phenomenon with perfect clarity.
"..."
Still, a faint unease lingered. Even accounting for spatial expansion, the actual observed redshift showed a discrepancy proportional to the inverse of distance. Was there some other variable at play?
Doloren picked up the Introduction to Electromagnetism once again.
"I don't see anything strange..."
What had Isaac been trying to tell her through this? Doloren glared at the equations written on the blackboard, then at the book, then back again. Finally, feeling as if her head might split open, she hurled the chalk away.
"Ugh, so frustrating!!"
Doggedly clinging to a problem wasn't her style. At times like this, a change of pace was needed. She immediately threw on a coat and headed for the main building of the Upperhills Foundation.
"Everyone, gather around!"
Whoosh. The moment Doloren arrived at the foundation, she launched a flare of light into the sky. The children's eyes sparkled.
"Three blue sparks!"
"It's Miss Doloren!"
