Rumble.
Ruuuuumble.
The world shook.
A great dark cloud rolled in, and mana surged.
At the sight of the Meteor revealing its presence beyond the clouds, the Mages of the United States wore dazed expressions.
They knew instinctively.
They could not handle that immense magical power.
That was why they thought they couldn't just stand there watching, dazed.
“Damn it.”
“Hurry, use Defensive Magic!”
The Mages moved in perfect unison.
To use their numbers efficiently, there were Mages specifically assigned the role of defense.
They had already finished casting.
Numerous barriers formed, as if to block the vast sky.
“Great Shield.”
“Great Shield.”
“Great Shield.”
Whoooong.
It was truly a magnificent sight.
The Meteor falling from the sky and the Great Shields forming simultaneously to block it.
At the sight of hundreds of Great Shields specialized in defense, a sliver of hope sprouted in the Mages' minds.
Not just one or two, but hundreds.
Maybe they could block it.
Their hopeful thought was shattered the moment the Meteor and the Great Shields collided.
KABOOM!
CRACK-CRACK-CRACK-CRACK!
KRRRRRRRRRRUMBLE.
An immense amount of magical power raged.
The Meteor pierced right through the Great Shields, destroying every single one it encountered, and people couldn't close their mouths at the sight of the debris raining down.
