The day broke.
On a morning that felt like it would never come, Hector's soldiers could not hide their grim expressions. "…It’s morning."
"Damn it."
It was a complicated feeling.
Anger surged at the realization that they had achieved nothing throughout the night, yet at the same time, a sigh of relief escaped.
The fear that darkness brought.
They could not let their guard down for even a moment.
They did not know when Roman Dmitri would leap out and bring death upon them, so Hector's soldiers welcomed the rising sun with wide-open eyes.
The battle was over.
Once the darkness receded, there were no further attacks, and the Kingdom of Hector had lost the strength to pursue them.
"Move the bodies of our comrades. We will soothe their souls with cremation and allow them to rest."
"Just a little more strength!" The command was given.
Hector's soldiers followed the order with weary faces.
The bodies were not just one or two.
The sight of the corpses was so horrific that they could not be moved entirely, but they still gathered as many as they could that were in decent condition.
Despite the difficulty, no one complained.
