“Is that so.” Professor Boladi didn’t pay much attention to Ihan’s excuses.
He reached into his robe, drew out a glass vial filled with a crimson potion, and took a sip.
At first Ihan thought it was a mana restoration potion... then realized — “That’s blood, isn’t it?” He understood that Professor Boladi had used blood magic to amplify his mana.
Given the power he'd just displayed with the blood blade, it made sense; even Boladi wouldn’t be able to cast so quickly without paying a price.
“Are you all right with your mana?” Ihan asked, concerned.
It was easy to forget when watching the professors of Ainlogard reveal feats beyond imagination, but they were still flesh and blood people. …Well, except for any liches, but still.

“I’m fine. This doesn’t seem like something you should worry about.” A student needn’t fret over his teacher.
Boladi gave Ihan a once-over.
Despite the fierce fight, Ihan’s mana showed no sign of trouble.
Again he was struck by the sheer overwhelming quantity of mana flowing through the youth.
“Do you remember the spell you just used?” Boladi asked.
“Huh? Pengerin’s Cold Elemental Clone?” Ihan answered.
Boladi slowly shook his head.
