“Damn it!” Leo leapt into the control chamber, “Inject the suppressor!”
A needle shot out and pierced Han Yanyan's body, injecting a dose of the suppressor. But it couldn’t contain Han Yanyan's surge of power. With Tang Ke's assistance, Han Yanyan's mental strength took shape completely and finally erupted!
With a series of sharp cracks, the lid of the chamber that confined Han Yanyan began to crack like ice, the fractures spreading wider and wider!
“Give her another dose!” Leo shouted!
Another needle was fired out, piercing Han Yanyan’s skin. The speed at which the cracks spread visibly slowed down. Han Yanyan sensed the force trying to suppress her.
In the first round, she was an S-grade mental strength user, and in the second round, she broke through to SS-grade. For the past forty years, she had been preparing for this moment!
In the first round, she was still exploring her mental strength; in the second round, she took a rough approach to cultivation from the start. Those around her knew that her mental strength was incredibly tough, wild, and charging forward without restraint! What they didn’t know was that Han Yanyan had always anticipated that this would not be easy. She had simulated facing obstacles and restraints long before this day arrived!
The speed of the cracks slowed for a second before suddenly accelerating again!
Cultivating mental strength had never been easy or relaxing; otherwise, so many people would not spend their whole lives stagnating at the second or even the first level. Only those who were the most diligent, the most hardworking, and the most ruthless could break through time and again!
Han Yanyan was one of those ruthless individuals. Or rather, she had been shaped into one by the worlds she had faced.
With a loud bang, the chamber lid exploded, shattering into pieces!
Han Yanyan clutched the chamber wall, flipping herself up. She coughed, expelling the liquid from her mouth and nose, gasping deeply afterward.
How long had it been since she had breathed real air? This was real air! O2 and CO2! Not data!
Coughing from the choking liquid, Han Yanyan held onto the chamber wall, preparing to get up and leave.
The third needle pierced her arm!
Han Yanyan grasped the needle, wanting to pull it out, but her body felt weak and sluggish, as if it had not moved in a long time.
She pulled out the third needle, the tip still sputtering with a different colored liquid. But then, the fourth needle shot out and pierced her calf!
Han Yanyan reached to pull it out.
“Don’t stop! Give her another dose!” Leo shouted as he watched the data on the screen that wouldn’t stop fluctuating.
He was the master of the entire spaceship and the administrator of the control system; his words were orders. The system executed his orders without hesitation.
The fifth needle stabbed into Han Yanyan’s spine.
On Leo’s end, the line on the screen that had been rising wildly finally stopped and began to plummet. Leo leaned back in his chair, letting out a big sigh of relief.
“Damn, this woman…” He undid the button of his shirt collar, wanting to curse, but he didn’t know what to say.
For Leo, his feelings toward Han Yanyan were quite complicated. He had lured and controlled many constructors, both men and women, and had managed to keep them under control. For the few rebellious ones, he had always been able to subdue them.
Only this woman, Han Yanyan, made him anxious day in and day out! It was thrilling!
“What’s going on?” the attendant asked.
“She released her mental strength,” Leo replied, tugging at his collar.
The attendant was surprised, “Didn’t you inject her with two doses of suppressor last night?”
Looking at him with a long face, Leo said, “I just injected five doses to finally keep her suppressed.”
The attendant's expression changed, “Is she still alive?”
“Alive. Vital signs are normal,” Leo said unhappily. “Do you think my genetic enhancers are the kind of common goods you can find outside? Her primitive genes encountered me and were incredibly lucky. And the cultivation liquid I used for her is something you can’t even buy; it’s all high-class stuff, my exclusive formula!”
Even as he spoke, he jumped out of the control chamber, walking quickly toward a hatch.
The attendant followed him.
The hatch opened, and Leo stepped through, the attendant following closely behind. Leo shot him a glance, his expression subtle.
As a technical person, he hated it when others casually entered his space. But the attendant raised an eyebrow at him—his gun hadn’t even been put away. Not to mention that two soldiers in white military uniforms stood guard nearby, weapons at the ready.
Leo had to swallow his anger, raking a hand through his messy hair and striding forward with a huff.
The attendant followed Leo through two hatches and arrived in a room.
Inside the room was a complete mess. The lid of the chamber, shattered by mental force, was scattered everywhere, and the cultivation liquid had spilled out in a sticky area on the floor. Han Yanyan, ultimately subdued by five doses of suppressor, had lost consciousness and fell to the floor from the sleep chamber, lying naked in the liquid.
The attendant frowned and removed his white uniform, throwing it over Han Yanyan to cover her.
“What do we do now?” he asked.
Leo shifted his gaze. He pointed at the intact sleep chamber beside them and said, “First, let’s put her back in there. I need to prepare the cultivation liquid again; I must add suppressor. This woman is such a headache! What a bother!”
As he spoke, he issued instructions, and a line of cleaning robots entered, silently beginning to tidy up.
The attendant picked up Han Yanyan, feeling how slender she was. Just as he approached another sleep chamber, his shirt suddenly tightened. He looked down and saw the woman in his arms with her eyes half-open, seemingly conscious, grasping his clothing.
Her lips were even moving.
Help me.
The attendant paused.
He stared at Han Yanyan, then looked away, placing her into the new sleep chamber and tightly securing the lid.
“Damn it! Are you my enemy or something? Be gentler!” Leo yelled at the robots clearing the damaged sleep chamber, turning back with displeasure.
The attendant wasn’t an ordinary person; he was a martial artist capable of smashing the sleep chamber with a single punch. Seeing him exert such strength, Leo feared he would damage the chamber, which would mean more trouble getting a new one from storage!
The attendant looked down at the woman in the chamber.
She was submerged in the cultivation liquid, her lips slightly parted as she released tiny bubbles of air.
But she still had awareness. She kept her eyes open, one hand slowly lifting to hold up the chamber lid.
She stared at him, her lips moving slightly.
Help me.
The attendant lit a cigarette, standing beside the sleep chamber, silently watching her.
Leo finished tidying up the other side and walked over, activating the sleep chamber. Dim light illuminated the chamber, and in the glow, Han Yanyan closed her eyes, the hand that had been supporting the lid slowly falling back down.
She floated in the cultivation liquid, her hair dispersed, looking remarkably serene.
Yet the attendant remembered her earlier despair clearly. Despair, yet refusing to give up; she was a stubborn woman.
Leo manipulated the control panel, murmuring, “Mix the suppressor into the cultivation liquid, double… no, three-fold. Keep that concentration! Don’t let her play with my heart rate again!”
This woman really didn’t allow him a moment's peace!
Different liquids mixed into the cultivation liquid, quickly diluting and merging, disappearing without a trace. In the concoction now laced with suppressor, she could no longer struggle, nor resist, the attendant thought.
After Leo finished his actions and turned around, he found the attendant staring at Han Yanyan. At this moment, Han Yanyan was completely exposed. Leo felt displeased.
Han Yanyan was his constructor; in Leo's heart, she was his possession. He slid his fingers across the control panel a couple of times, and the transparent lid darkened, turning opaque.
In reality, the attendant wasn’t lewd at all; he was simply observing Han Yanyan’s face. He glanced at Leo and said, “Didn’t expect her to be a beauty.”
Leo hmphed, “She should thank me. My genetic enhancers aren’t just for show. Her genetic level is now no lower than yours; her bones have been readjusted to optimal condition, so of course, she looks better.”
“Oh!” Leo suddenly remembered, “My client!”
He pulled up a large screen displaying a device, with a blue light floating at its center.
The attendant was surprised, "SS-grade?" It was said that the SS-grade mental power would appear blue when activated. The attendant himself was only an S-grade.
“He’s a big shot. A general from the Silver Sai Mei Gao region,” Leo said with pride, “Look, I’ve awakened him.”
Isn’t that unethical?
Aside from a few religions, the entire universe shared a consensus on mental power sources, considering them a half-step in human evolution. If the mental power source of these deceased individuals was preserved in good condition, it might allow for true resurrection or achieving eternity in the future as humankind developed their technologies.
“Alright, he’s in an activated state now; I’m putting him in.” Leo began the operation.
Two half-spheres moved left and right, slowly approaching the blue mental power source, eventually merging into a sphere, encapsulating the blue light within.
This spherical metal box was called a “Source House,” which in a sense represented a coffin from Han Yanyan’s hometown.
The technology of the Source House had only been invented a thousand years ago. Within one hour after physical death, the mental power source would close, losing its binding and escaping the body; at that moment, it could be captured by the Source House for long-term preservation until the day humanity progressed sufficiently to resurrect them.
However, once the closed mental power source was reactivated, even if it was stored in the Source House, it could only last for several dozen hours before it would naturally dissipate.
Completely vanishing from the universe.
Disturbing the eternal rest of the deceased, making one’s soul shatter.
The business Leo was in was considered quite vile back in Han Yanyan’s hometown, akin to disturbing ancestral graves. Not only did Han Yanyan look down upon him, but the attendant also had no regard for him.
Yet, this was precisely the kind of business that kept flowing, sometimes requiring a queue to access.
As for the price, over the years, Leo had steadily increased his charges.
“Was it done by an enemy?” the attendant asked. His thoughts mirrored Han Yanyan’s, immediately considering major events like national secrets, political incidents, military deployments, and so on.
Leo chuckled.
“I tell you, once you get involved in this business, you’ll realize,” Leo said sarcastically, “Ninety percent of those who open a Source House to send someone from this world are supposed ‘relatives.’ Out of those, seventy-five percent do it for inheritance, while the rest are for all sorts of trivial matters. Sometimes, it’s unfathomable what reasons let them dare to disturb their loved one’s Source House. Heh.”
The attendant: “…”
The attendant took a drag from his cigarette, unwilling to listen to such matters. He quietly watched as the mental power source of that general was once again stored in the Source House, then transported back to the payer with a flash of white light.
After pondering a moment, he finally crushed the cigarette. At the very least, he wanted to express sorrow for the end of a once-great warrior.
He was the first attendant beside Duke Klin, and he hailed from nobility, having grown up with elite education, inherently possessing grace.
Just like when he saw Han Yanyan naked, he wouldn’t stare like Leo; instead, he would loosen his own garments to cover her. That was his grace and demeanor.
However, when Han Yanyan called for help, he remained cold and refused. Because he needed Han Yanyan.
In the face of his need, Han Yanyan’s despair was locked within the narrow sleep chamber, submerged in the cold cultivation liquid.
Han Yanyan opened her eyes, knowing she could only rely on herself.
