Ding Yao nimbly jumped down from the wall. He crouched down in front of Han Yanyan to examine her hands. Her palms were covered with a thin layer of translucent ice, faintly revealing the red meat and white bone beneath. Ding Yao nodded and said, "It's nothing."
After he spoke, he stood up and picked up a machete. As his fingertips brushed against the blade, it vanished into thin air. Han Yanyan remembered that apart from his lightning abilities, Ding Yao was also a space-type ability user.
Ding Yao stored the man’s backpack, Han Yanyan’s backpack, and the storage bag into his space. Turning around, he saw that Han Yanyan had already found support from the flower bed next to the stairs and was unsteadily standing up. Ding Yao glanced at her and said, "Let’s go."
Han Yanyan nodded. Ding Yao walked ahead, but after a couple of steps, he heard a thud behind him. He turned back to find Han Yanyan sitting on the ground again.
Her legs were weak.
"Is this your first time killing someone?" Ding Yao asked. He had seen her fight zombies quite ferociously and without fear, but he didn't expect she would react like this after killing a person.
Han Yanyan’s face was as pale as paper as she nodded.
"You'll get used to it," Ding Yao said, extending his hand to her.
