Ding Yao stood outside the car, leaning against the SUV's door, lighting a cigarette, and then putting away the lighter. He turned his head to glance at the girl standing on the car's roof. The weapon strap cinched her waist so tightly that it seemed fragile, yet her slender figure projected a sense of strength. The wind blew her bangs as she looked at him. When he turned to see her, she nimbly jumped down from the roof and asked, "Can my internship be over now?"
Ding Yao blew out a puff of smoke, smiled, and said, "You're on full duty now."
He called out, "Shao."
Shao's name was bold-sounding, but the person was actually a skinny and short young man. Hearing his name, he came running over in a jolt, "Boss?"
Ding Yao said, "You'll team up with Little Han." To Han Yanyan, he said, "Shao is in charge of the space, our warehouse, so make sure to protect it."
In the post-apocalyptic world, resources were precious. Aside from a few staying back to guard the vehicles, everyone else, whether they were from the search team or the combat squad, dispersed to scrounge for supplies.
Han Yanyan picked a direction with this short and thin young man and left the convoy.
"Little Han... Sister." Seeing Han Yanyan turn back, Shao quickly added "Sister" to his greeting.
