The Northern Sea Ice Palace Princess silently stared at the jade tablet handed to her. It was the jade tablet of her father, the Northern Sea Ice Palace Lord. She had already known that Namgung Mucheon possessed it, so there was no denying that it was genuine.
The Northern Sea Ice Palace Princess raised her gaze and looked at the man who had offered it to her.
“…What do you gain by doing this…?”
Namgung Mucheon did not avoid the princess’s gaze, either. She had the white hair and clear, translucent skin befitting a Northern Sea Ice Palace Princess. Long eyelashes, like snowflakes, covered her silver eyes.
She was beautiful enough to be called an unparalleled beauty, yet she was also notorious throughout the Northern Sea for being utterly devoid of compassion. More than one of her political opponents had disappeared overnight, only to be found as a gruesomely mutilated corpse.
“…Are you trying to buy time…?”
Her languidly curving voice was utterly indifferent. Even as she turned the jade tablet this way and that, her gaze held the same detachment, as though she were not pondering anything deeply.
“You may be the Ice Palace Princess, but the jade tablet represents the palace lord’s will. I do not think you will defy it.”
The princess of the Ice Palace slowly shifted her gaze.
“Do you think so…?”
