Near Xuefeng Mountain, in the snowy plains.
Crunch, crunch—
A man was running swiftly through the snow, his footsteps uneven, leaving behind two tracks of footprints and a trail of blood.
One of his eyes had been gouged out; the empty socket was a swirl of dark red.
Dozens of black knives and swords were stabbed deep into his body, piercing through.
"Huff, huff..."
His breath came raggedly, like a broken bellows; his lungs had been pierced.
With a thud, the man collapsed onto the snow, his blood quickly staining the white field red.
Crunch, crunch—
Another set of footsteps approached.
"Don’t, don’t come closer."
The man struggled to get up, but after much effort, he could only sit back on his knees.
"You're a third-rank contractor after all; show some dignity."
A woman’s voice rang out, laced with a teasing smile.
Thin lips curled sensually in red.
