Side Story Chapter 105. Descendant of the Black Devil (5)
“Ptooey!”
So-gong spat out a mouthful of bitter blood and let out a heavy sigh.
"Damn it, how did it come to this? I really feel like losing my mind."
Although his tone carried his usual lively character, there was no strength left in his voice at all.
And it was no wonder.
Despite having severe internal and external injuries, his inner energy was sealed off.
It was a small mercy he wasn’t suffering from constant pain.
So-gong glanced sideways.
One of the squad leaders who had collapsed was breathing roughly.
Even without consciousness, his body trembled.
His face was deeply furrowed, and his complexion was pale.
“Hey, Squad Leader Sa.”
Of course, there was no answer.
Still, So-gong shouted once more.
“Squad Leader Sa! Mokjangbaek!”
For a moment, the fallen man twitched.
But that was all.
His body responded to the familiar voice, but his consciousness was probably drifting in and out.
'Damn it.'
So-gong looked around.
The dark prison cell let in only a little moonlight.
The smell was musty, and bugs swarmed over the straw bedding.
Since it was a place where criminals were locked up, there was no reason to keep it clean.
Yet, compared to the worst dungeon in the Law Enforcement Hall, this was remarkably humane.
'If only it weren’t so damp.'
