"External Inspection Deputy Special Investigator?"
"Yes, that's correct."
Seoryang, who had unknowingly opened his mouth wide, read the words written under the beautifully drawn orchid.
"What is this? This long and complicated title that seems like it would only attract glares from others?"
Hoyoseong took a sip of tea and laughed.
"We just call it the Special Inspector for short."
"It's shorter, but the burden is twice as much."
"Just hearing the title, you can guess what it entails, right?"
"I can guess, but I don't understand. Why are you giving me such a title? Aren't titles not given to successor candidates?"
Successor candidates hold the highest status in the Divine Sect. However, that does not prove their abilities.
The reason their status is high is because they are chosen by the divine. They are acknowledged for their potential to become the strongest in the sect in the future.
The reason titles are not given to candidates is because their abilities have not been verified, and to prevent the collapse of the organizational structure.
If even one of them were to receive a title, all sorts of power-hungry pests would swarm around them.
"That's why the word 'Deputy' is attached to External Inspection. It's a temporary title, so it's fine."
