People often use the expression ‘pitch-black’ when their surroundings grow dark. However, not many have actually had an experience that truly fits that description. When one’s surroundings become truly dark, one cannot feel any difference between having their eyes open or closed.
Even if you lift your arm and bring it before your eyes, you cannot see it. Bi-soo was having just such an experience.
“Damn it! A power outage, of all times…!”
Bi-soo flailed her arm, searching for the car handle. If there had been even the tiniest speck of light, she would have found it in an instant, but unfortunately, she couldn't even see her own hand right now.
‘I have to open it quickly…’
Before the lights went out, Ppori’s condition had looked quite serious. For that tiny body to ram its forehead into the glass window until it shattered, the impact must have been severe. It might have been different for Ppori in its adult form, but the Ppori that was active in the human world was no different from a small pet.
“Ouch!”
In her haste, her flailing arm struck the broken glass instead of the handle. Bi-soo quickly pulled her arm back and felt below the cut with her other hand. Just then, -Kekekeke.
A flinch.
A raw sense of dread skimmed across Bi-soo’s back. Was it because she couldn't see? That unpleasant laughter, though small, mercilessly pierced her ears.
