It’s been almost a month since the new book was released, and I’m thrilled to see so many readers enjoying it.
As the author, I’m over the moon, so much so that I feel like carrying my phone in my pocket all day long.
The initial inspiration for this book came from cyberpunk, but I always felt a certain disconnect with Western cyberpunk themes.
What I wanted to write was a blend of cyberpunk and the immortal path, akin to the difference between Lovecraftian horror and its Chinese counterpart.
Some of my long-time readers might recall that I’ve dabbled in similar ideas since my book "The Calamity of Tomorrow," which was a few books ago.
Back then, my understanding of cyberpunk was quite superficial—cool gadgets, accessible cybernetic enhancements, and mass-produced combat power.
At that time, the cyber elements were more like fashionable accessories in my story, just a decorative touch.
In my previous book, "The Records of the Old Days," I tried to incorporate elements of borrowing and repaying debts within a cultivation system, attempting to create a more cyberpunk-like cycle of interests.
It was a step closer to the cyber-immortal vibe I wanted, but I still fell short due to my limited understanding and skill.
Then came my last book, "I Said I Would Turn Back Time," where I directly portrayed the immortal realm as a cyber-immortal world.
Unfortunately, due to inconsistencies in style, my own health issues, and the protagonist being overpowered, I couldn’t fully explore this world and ended up wrapping it up hastily.
Now, after years of accumulation, I feel I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the cyber-immortal essence I’ve been striving for.
I believe I can finally write a unique and interesting novel that stands out.
With more and more readers joining in, this book has evolved from a personal interest to something I feel increasingly responsible for.
Every day, reading your comments makes me feel that I can’t let down the love and support of so many readers.
But this book is genuinely challenging to write.
The world-building and the characters’ thoughts are quite unique, often requiring me to shift my mindset to continue.
Sometimes, as I write, I unconsciously slip into more conventional thinking, making the plot too ordinary, and I end up deleting and rewriting entire chapters—like the two I just scrapped.
Additionally, the world-building requires constant refinement, so the writing process is slow… (laugh-cry emoji).
Finally, I want to say, dear readers, your comments in this chapter are nothing short of brilliant, showcasing your extraordinary talents and leaving me in awe.
I’m overwhelmed by your creativity and enthusiasm.
To reciprocate this passion, I’ve decided to delay the book’s official release (originally set for December 1st) and offer more free chapters as a bonus.
I’m eager to improve and grow~(^◇^)/
I hope you’ll continue to support and follow the book.
Your follows and comments are the driving force behind this story! Feel free to recommend it to your friends and bring them along to explore the Kunxu realm.
