The next morning after the mission evaluation, Simon's new routine began.
"How has everyone been?"
"Yes! Professor!"
It was Jane's introductory dark magic class after a long time.
Simon sat at the same table as Dick, Meilin, and Kamibarez, listening to Jane's lecture.
Occasionally, he exchanged glances with his acquaintances, Cindy Vivace and Jamie Victoria, at the adjacent table.
He also nodded at Toto, who had become closer through their 'mutant' club activities.
"This week, there are announcements."
Jane said.
As always, the significant events from Kizen followed her words.
Everyone's faces tensed as they awaited her next statement.
"First, your midterm exam results have come out."
A chorus of sighs echoed throughout the room.
Dick buried his head on the table, while Meilin couldn't hide her excitement, rhythmically tapping her fingers on the table.
Kamibarez flapped his bat wings behind him, wearing his usual tense expression.
"Your midterm exam scores and rankings will be announced. Of course, the rankings are based solely on written scores, excluding performance evaluations."
The teaching assistants busily called out students' names.
The report cards were unusually placed inside letter envelopes.
"Simon Polentia?"
"Yes!"
Simon politely accepted the envelope from the assistant.
