Dae-eom Temple of the True Word Esoteric Buddhism in Datong, north of Shanxi Province. Behind the temple stood a large, towering peak, and around it, nearly a hundred Vajra monks of the esoteric sect were chanting scriptures while holding Vajras.
The solemn scriptures echoed across the entire mountainside, bringing peace of mind and body to those who heard it, but the complexions of the Vajra monks chanting it were not good. They looked pale, and the dark circles under their eyes suggested they had not slept in a long time. Every single one of them appeared incredibly exhausted.
"Om somani somani hum harihanna harihanna hum harihanna banaya hum anaya hok baabam baara hum batak."
Despite this, they chanted the scriptures without rest. During this, one Vajra monk broke into a cold sweat, and soon, "Puh!" Black blood spurted from his mouth like a fountain.
So much blood poured out that it looked as though he would soon die of excessive blood loss just from spewing it from his mouth. Flustered by this, the nearby Vajra monks tried to stop chanting the scriptures, but, "Gal!" An old monk standing behind them holding prayer beads let out a sharp shout.
At that, the Vajra monks hesitated for a moment before sitting back down and chanting the scriptures again.
