Once ice element evocation magic was folded into the dragon tongue system, Adam's control over it improved by leaps and bounds. The rocket artillery that blotted out the sky no longer scattered in every direction the way it had when he fought the werewolves; instead it rose in orderly ranks to meet the energy beam.
The energy beam's power level was not especially high, but its penetrating and cohesive properties were terrifying. Though hundreds of elemental shells exploded against it in succession, it held its stability remarkably, and the shockwaves of the blasts never scattered it.
A few seconds later the beam had pierced through every last elemental rocket — but by then Adam was no longer there.
What the seven envoys had just said weighed heavily on his mind; half of what he had taken for the truth had now been overturned.
So the Dragon-Slaying Organization was not one solid block after all. These remnants, who should have been a single body, had fallen into infighting, split into two factions over a difference of ideals.
