Adam had in fact already given up any real hope for Lina's mission.
If the Dragon-Slaying Organization had been built by fools like the evil-god worshippers of the Mage World — a body for communicating with and sacrificing to the other plane — then after some maneuvering Lina might still have climbed into its upper ranks, and even ended up holding the whole organization in her hand.
But judging by the intelligence they had now, the Dragon-Slaying Organization had been founded by remnants of the other plane that were never purged after the war back then, and that meant the natives of the Dragon Plane had no chance at all of reaching its upper ranks.
This decision of theirs had caught Adam completely off guard; he never would have guessed the organization did things in such a... freewheeling way.
They had even sent a gift.
A frost dragon hatchling.
Half a month later.
