The Tale of Rebellion

In the divine palace above the clouds of Olympus,

mortals gazed up in awe at the abode of the gods.

This place, once partially destroyed by Typhon, was once again facing a crisis.

Was it due to an external enemy rivaling that powerful Typhon?

Was it the invasion of Kronos, Gigantes, or the Titan gods?

"Damn it... what is the meaning of this! Uncle!"

It was none of those.

"Can't you see, my nephew? Zeus is finished."

"Brother Apollo! Why are you standing with them?"

"My dear brother, our father, who chases after human women instead of our mother or Lady Hera, is no more..."

It was a civil war over the throne of the gods.

While Zeus slept, his lightning was hidden, and his muscular body was bound with tough leather straps.

Awakening, Zeus was bewildered, but the tide had already turned.

Poseidon, Apollo, and Hera had imprisoned the bound Zeus within a building in Olympus, calling upon the other gods.

From now on, they would expel Zeus and declare a new king of the gods.

"Don't be ridiculous! I oppose this!"

"Ares, your single opposition won't change anything."

"Mother!"

"No, Brother Apollo, please think this through carefully."

"Hermes, I have acted after sufficient contemplation."

"You are the god of reason, are you not? Is this truly..."

"Must we really do this among ourselves? Poseidon? We are still in danger from the Gigantes..."

"A Zeus who was defeated by Typhon, despite possessing the divinity of the sky, has no right to stand above me. Hestia."

The great gods of Olympus were divided.

One side sought to crown Poseidon as the new king, while the other aimed to rescue the imprisoned Zeus.

"What are you all doing! We must fight to rescue Father!"

The god of war, Ares, was agitated, ready to charge at any moment.

The other gods, too, were tense, drawing upon their divine powers and reaching for their weapons.

Athena's spear gleamed, and Hermes seemed resolute as he infused strength into his caduceus.

But...

"Hmm. That sounds good, but instead of just talking, try to enforce your will with strength. I shall face you with my trident."

"Ugh..."

"Uncle! Is this really happening!"

"Damn it, how can we defeat Lord Poseidon..."

As Poseidon nonchalantly brandished his trident, everyone hesitated.

Zeus, Poseidon, Hades.

These three gods possessed a strength unlike any other gods.

To the extent that they could defeat all other gods, excluding the three of them.

"Ahhh! You won't know until you try!!"

Ares, swallowing his anger, shouted as he looked around at the gods on Zeus's side.

His body radiated intense red divine power as he drew his sword and charged at Poseidon...

Clang! Boom!

"Tch..."

"How disrespectful to the new king of Olympus, my nephew."

Poseidon swung his trident with unseen speed.

The blue divine power spread like waves, striking the challenger directly.

Ares's sword shattered against the sharp trident, revealing a clear gap in strength.

Ultimately, the god of war could only retreat, overwhelmed by the scent of defeat.

"Are there any other gods opposing my claim to that throne!"

With a booming voice, Poseidon raised his trident, pointing at the golden throne.

That throne was the seat of honor among the twelve thrones, where Zeus usually sat.

Only the king of Olympus could occupy that seat.

At this, the gods on Zeus's side fell into a dismal silence, and a suffocating stillness enveloped Olympus.

Seeing the quiet gods, Poseidon stroked his beard with satisfaction and declared,

"Then now we shall expel Zeus..."

"I oppose this."

"I oppose this."

"What...?"

"I felt no presence whatsoever!"

"I heard no sound from the wind..."

Suddenly, a voice echoed, causing all the gods of Olympus to stir.

The voice emerged from an empty space where no presence had been felt.

"Are you truly trying to hinder me..."

However, the seasoned gods who had fought in the war against the Gigantes and Titans recognized the voice's identity.

This perfect concealment, escaping the senses of the gods, was permitted to only one god...

"This is Quine! Lord of the Underworld!"

"I had said I would treat you well..."

"Uncle Hades!"

A dark-haired, dark-eyed god, wearing an old and worn helmet and holding a bident, revealed himself.

Though he appeared shabby without any adornment, his gloomy eyes and weary demeanor commanded respect.

"Hades! Come here now, and I will even cede control of the sea, excluding the sky!"

"I have no need for that; just stop the rebellion."

He was Hades, the third god, equal to Poseidon.

I arrived just in time.

Thanks to Thetis's words, I hurriedly ascended to Olympus.

I almost let Zeus be expelled before I intervened.

Where is Zeus?

"Hades!"

".... Uncle! Poseidon has gone mad!"

"Haah... you rushed here from the Underworld?"

I finally see the gods on Zeus's side looking at me with expressions of relief.

Ares, why are you covered in dust, and your sword is shattered... you charged at Poseidon and got hit, didn't you?

On the other hand, Hera and Apollo on Poseidon's side look dismayed.

Did you think I wouldn't intervene this quickly?

"Umm..."

"Poseidon, do you want to fight me as well?"

As I pointed my bident at him, I saw Poseidon grimace.

If he could just take me down, the throne of the gods would be within reach.

But Poseidon is not that foolish.

A fight between him and me, neither in the sea nor the Underworld, would likely drag on.

Even if I could gain some advantage with Quine, he is still one of the three gods.

But Hera and Apollo cannot defeat all these gods.

In a battle of forces, Poseidon is clearly at a disadvantage.

While I hold off Poseidon, if the other gods can subdue Hera and Apollo and free Zeus, the rebellion will end.

"It seems Zeus is trapped in that building over there."

"How did you get here from the Underworld..."

"Thetis informed me."

Hera, is there any reason I shouldn't be in Olympus?

"No... Uncle Hades."

"What."

Apollo, wipe that expression off your face before the severed head of Typhon enters Tartarus.

Poseidon's stormy aura gradually diminishes.

His trident lowers towards the ground.

"Damn it... fine. I will withdraw."

"Poseidon!"

"Then what can we do, Hera? We have lost because we could not expel Zeus before Hades intervened."

Poseidon, with a face as if he had bitten into a stone while drinking nectar, retreats.

Is that building where Zeus is trapped?

As I entered, I saw Zeus tightly bound with tough leather straps reinforced by divine power.

Upon seeing me, his face brightened.

"Hades, have you come to rescue me?"

"I am utterly exhausted because of you."

"If it weren't for the ambush that occurred while I was asleep..."

The leather straps were severed by my bident, and Zeus regained his lightning.

Thus, the rebellion in Olympus was quelled.

"Poseidon, always ambitious as you are, I can understand, but how could you, Hera, do such a thing! Apollo, you too!"

"I am sorry, Father..."

"Silence! You shall descend to the mortal realm for a year and serve as a slave under the king of humans! And Poseidon too!"

Apollo and Poseidon left Olympus with darkened expressions.

Zeus's eagle would watch over whether they lived as proper slaves.

"And... Hera, you shall wear shackles on your ankles and cuffs on your wrists for a year!"

".... Do as you wish."

The rebellion against him had nearly succeeded.

As Zeus's anger flared, thunder echoed through the sky.

Humans would tremble in fear, thinking Zeus was angry with them...

In reality, it was just the god of rape, whose authority had been threatened, throwing a tantrum.

After a while of fuming, Zeus turned to look at me.

"Haah... and I must express my gratitude to you again, Brother Hades."

"No, if you had just kept your affairs in check, Hera wouldn't have acted like that."

"Regardless of that, I can never forgive those who challenge my position."

No matter how I think about it, isn't this a case of self-inflicted wounds?

While it is true that Zeus suits the role of king of the gods better than Poseidon...

"If even your son would rebel, perhaps you should reflect on your usual conduct..."

"Hmph! I never thought that Apollo would do such a thing..."

As I conversed with Zeus, the other gods began to gather here slowly.

It seems the cleanup from the damage caused by the rebellion is finally complete.

"Uncle Hades! Thank you so much this time."

"I never expected you to appear in Olympus to help Zeus."

"If the Lord of the Underworld had not helped, it could have been dangerous."

Many gods looked at me with bright eyes, like chicks gazing at a mother hen.

Finally, they have escaped their disdain for the Underworld, enlightened gods.

Now is the time to fulfill Hephaestus's request,

and with great satisfaction, I summoned my bident to show them.

"Ah... that's what you were holding when you appeared after shedding Quine!"

"I've never seen a weapon like that, but it feels extraordinary."

"Hades, did the Cyclopes make that for you?"

They are indeed curious about the source of my powerful weapon.

Then I shall let everyone know.

Unfortunately, Hephaestus is not here, but...

"This is a bident made for me by Hephaestus, the greatest blacksmith in the world, surpassing the Cyclopes, and one of the twelve gods of Olympus. By the way, it has a wonderful feature that allows me to summon it to my hand at any time, even from afar. Unlike Ares's sword, which shattered in an instant, it is not inferior to Poseidon's trident, and after clashing several times with my proud transparent helmet, Quine..."

Seeing everyone, including Zeus, staring blankly at me...!

It seems my bident is indeed quite enviable.
