At the Xieyue Three Stars Cave, Mo Zhi entered the sect and formally bowed to the Daoist Master to become his disciple.
The Master gave him the dharma name “Xinzhou” (Heart Boat).
However, the Master did not immediately teach him any magical arts; instead, he instructed Sun Wukong and the others to oversee Mo Zhi for a while.
After the Master finished lecturing atop the Jade Terrace, he dismissed the disciples and went behind the terrace to the Patriarch’s Quiet Room.
There, the Master met with the Patriarch and respectfully bowed with great ceremony.
The Patriarch smiled and bade the Master to take a seat.
The Patriarch asked with a warm smile, “Young one, have you accepted any disciples?”
The Master nodded and replied, “Master, right now there is one disciple who has entered the sect. He is Mo Zhi from Anling Country of Xiniu Hezhou. His dharma name is Xinzhou.”
The Patriarch said, “Mo Zhi Xinzhou... this must be the very place where he will have difficulties in realizing the Dao. Is that so, young one?”
