After Sun Wukong and the others finished their discussion and knew what to do, they set out and arrived before Haiguan Mountain.
The group soared through the clouds and mist, reaching the edge of Haiguan Mountain.
Sun Wukong stepped out of formation and said, “Everyone, I’ll trouble you to stay here and keep watch. I am going ahead to challenge the Great Sage with Axe and Halberd. Once he appears, if you see me lure him out, then you all attack at once.”
Everyone responded in agreement.
Zhu Bajie laughed and said, “Brother, in the past you were full of might and never feared those evil spirits. Why now do you keep reminding us so much? You don't seem like the hero you used to be.”
Sun Wukong replied, “You fool, now that I don't have my staff, of course I have to be cautious. If I still had my weapon in hand, I wouldn’t be afraid at all.”
Zhu Bajie said, “How about I lend you my Nine-Toothed Rake, big brother? Then you wouldn’t need to worry so much anymore.”
After speaking, Zhu Bajie handed his Nine-Toothed Rake to Sun Wukong.
Sun Wukong waved his hand and said, “No need for that. I’m not used to your rake. I don’t have my staff now, but once I take back the Golden-Hooped Rod, that will be enough.”
Hearing this, Zhu Bajie gave up.
