It is said that Jiang Yuan accompanied Laojun to ascend to the heavens, arriving at the South Heavenly Gate of the First Heaven.
Before the gate, he saw the Heavenly King leading a group of generals, including Pang, Liu, Gou, and Bi, along with the mighty Heavenly Ding, wielding spears, sabers, swords, and halberds, blocking the gate.
The Heavenly King looked up closely and saw that the leader was a true immortal with an accomplished celestial appearance.
This true immortal was leading a green ox, upon which sat an old man, surrounded by purple qi, a figure of great importance.
“Laojun!”
The Heavenly King was startled and, along with the other generals, stepped forward to pay respects to the Dao Ancestor.
Taishang Laojun smiled and said, “Open the gate, for this is the Guangxin Zhenren. Follow me to the heavens.”
The Heavenly King did not dare to refuse, opening the gate to allow Laojun to enter.
Laojun rode the green ox through the heavenly gate, and Jiang Yuan bowed to the Heavenly King before stepping inside.
