After all, Hongze had been cut off from the outside world for so many years.
Even without the blockade, reestablishing contact with the outside was not something done in just a few days.
Fortunately, that elder from the Eastern Dragon Palace left a way for the living beings of Hongze.
And he used his life to verify the reliability of that path.
Even though the plan ultimately failed, the jade seal was truly sent up to the heavens.
If you can send messages, you can send people.
“My father, the king, may not be the toughest, but he is a decent man.”
Ziyang descended from the horizon, arriving at a dusty earth road, where an oddly dressed old man waited beside a horse carriage.
The reason he looked odd was that though he was obviously old, with white hair and beard, he wore a bright red robe, tied his hair in two buns, and even applied a touch of rouge—looking more like a child’s outfit than that of an elder.
“This elder is a servant of the Earth Lord’s seat, and he once shared a life covenant with my father.”
Ziyang first exchanged polite greetings with the old man for a long while before turning to introduce him to Shen Yi.
Then he said to the old man, “This is an old friend of mine, planning to find a position in the Divine Court.”
