“Ha ha ha! Fate, fate!”
The Mischievous Immortal laughed heartily, his massive body swaying with such force that Yu Lie, resting in the palm of his hand, once again felt as if the world were spinning wildly.
To be honest, the term “Heaven’s fate” that Yu Lie had just uttered was nothing more than a spur-of-the-moment fabrication, intended to curry favor with the Mischievous Immortal.
Yet upon deeper reflection, Yu Lie realized that the fact he had obtained this miraculous flesh-and-blood body from the sea of blood was truly a marvel—just the kind of treasure that could be used to save this Mischievous Immortal.
But soon, the words that followed the Immortal’s laughter revealed to Yu Lie that this matter was not merely coincidence.
He heard the Immortal mumble to himself:
“I have long known that in the ruins of the Celestial Court, there was something unwilling to rest, striving to return to life. I awaited its emergence, expecting it to come forth and pay me homage as its master. Unexpectedly, that creature failed at the last moment. Yet it left behind for me this fine flesh-and-blood body. Time and fate…”
So it turned out that the immortal infant in the secret realm of the Disaster Star City was not unknown to all.
At least the Mischievous Immortal was well informed about the situation in the sea of blood.
He even tacitly allowed that infant to silently gather strength over time, to be reborn someday.
This left Yu Lie momentarily stunned. “If this Mischievous Immortal knew the existence of the immortal infant, then why did he not take it before his old death?”
