After leaving Teacher Xu's office, Li Yuan didn't rush to the cafeteria for a meal. Instead, he returned to the Elite Building, specifically to Martial Arts Room 4011.
After waiting for a while, Li Yuan checked the time and then called his uncle, Li Changzhou, through video chat.
Soon, the call connected, and Li Changzhou was seen eating.
"Uncle," Li Yuan greeted.
"Xiao Yuan, why the sudden call?" Li Changzhou asked while munching on his food. "Have you eaten yet?"
"Not yet," Li Yuan shook his head. "Uncle, listen to me. There's something important..."
Quickly, Li Yuan recounted everything that happened that afternoon. He also sent the B-grade contract documents to Li Changzhou.
At first, Li Changzhou listened while eating, but after a while, he put down his chopsticks and began to seriously examine the documents. Occasionally, he would ask about some details, then fall into deep thought.
Once Li Yuan finished explaining everything, he hesitated a bit and said, "Uncle! I was thinking of calling you later tonight, but I feel it's better to make a decision sooner."
"That's right."
"You thought well," Li Changzhou said, looking at Li Yuan with admiration. "This matter should indeed be decided sooner. You should go find your teacher, Xu Bo, and tell him that you've decided to sign with the Starfire Martial Hall."
"As soon as your teacher agrees, immediately send a message to Hall Master Wan, saying you agree and are very satisfied with the B-grade contract, ready to sign at any time."
"Tonight would be fine." Li Changzhou spoke firmly.
"Right now?"
"Tonight?" Li Yuan was a bit taken aback by his uncle's decisive attitude. He remembered that his uncle had previously advised him to compare options.
Seeing Li Yuan's confusion, Li Changzhou patiently explained, "Xiao Yuan, your language skills are good. Do you remember an old saying?"
"Treat me as a national talent, and I will repay you as a national talent; treat me as an ordinary person, and I will repay you as an ordinary person."
"With your principal and Teacher Xu backing you, I believe they won't conspire to deceive a young kid like you."
Li Changzhou continued, "Moreover, the Starry Sky Martial Hall controls the Star Combat Network. I know a bit about it; I just didn't expect your spiritual talent to be so high... I was only a level 12 martial artist back in my day, and I can't even be considered a true martial artist now. There are many things I don't know."
Li Yuan listened carefully. His uncle might not be a high-level martial artist, but he saw things clearly.
"In this matter," Li Changzhou said, "the Starry Sky Martial Hall is not being sincere with you." He shook his head. "Uncle Zhong is a good person, but it's normal for him to have his own interests... We have to understand that everyone needs to make a living."
Li Yuan nodded slightly; he didn't blame Uncle Zhong. The other party wasn't a high-ranking member of the hall and didn't have decision-making power.
"But Hall Master Wan has shown you the greatest sincerity, even willing to sponsor you personally," Li Changzhou said solemnly. "If we wait for the Martial Arts Hall and the Starry Sky Martial Hall's results... it would make us seem greedy."
"Sometimes, benefits are very important."
"But sometimes, you must be true to your own heart," Li Changzhou added. "Especially as you are about to embark on your martial arts journey."
"Remember this: a martial artist values clarity of thought and being true to oneself."
"Clarity of thought and being true to oneself," Li Yuan nodded, silently committing it to memory.
"You should agree to this," Li Changzhou continued. "Not just Hall Master Wan, but your teacher Xu Bo and even Principal Tan... they will all see you as decisive and sincere."
"Perhaps in the future, you won't care about this."
"Maybe you won't directly benefit."
"But as the saying goes, three people can create a tiger, and words can forge gold. You need to think long-term... When you venture into the Star Realm in the future, having a good reputation among martial artists might just save your life at a critical moment," Li Changzhou advised.
"I understand," Li Yuan nodded firmly.
Since middle school, especially in high school, his uncle often shared life lessons with him through small matters.
"Alright, go ahead."
"I'll message your aunt right away," Li Changzhou said. "If you want to sign the contract tonight, I'll have her come over."
Li Yuan's uncle and aunt were both his guardians.
"Okay," Li Yuan nodded.
After hanging up the video call, he went straight to Xu Bo's office and knocked on the door.
"Come in," a deep voice sounded.
He pushed the door open. "Teacher Xu," Li Yuan said directly, "I just communicated with my family. My uncle and I are both willing to sign with the Starfire Martial Hall."
"I'll message Hall Master Wan right now. Does that sound good to you, Teacher?" Li Yuan got straight to the point.
"Willing to sign right now?" Xu Bo looked surprised. "Aren't you waiting for the Martial Arts Hall's results?"
"Not waiting anymore."
Li Yuan shook his head. "The conditions Hall Master Wan provided are satisfactory to both me and my family. We feel there's no need to wait."
"We can sign at any time; tonight would be fine," Li Yuan added.
"Haha."
"That's good." A hint of a smile appeared on Xu Bo's usually stern face. "You're thinking correctly. Alright, I'll make a video call to Hall Master Wan. He probably hasn't gotten home yet."
"Remember not to speak."
Li Yuan nodded.
Immediately, Xu Bo made a video call to Hall Master Wan in front of Li Yuan.
Buzz~ The light gathered and projected.
The call connected.
"Old Wan," Xu Bo greeted with a smile.
"Tall Tower, what's up?" Hall Master Wan was sitting in a car, his voice carrying a hint of amusement.
From Hall Master Wan's perspective, he couldn't see Li Yuan.
"I have good news for you," Xu Bo said with a smile. "Just now, Li Yuan communicated with his uncle and aunt. They were originally thinking of waiting to see the Martial Arts Hall's conditions, but this kid is sensible and persuaded his family to agree to sign with your Starfire Martial Hall."
"The contract terms you proposed don't need any additions."
"When would be a good time to sign?" Xu Bo continued with a smile. "Tonight or tomorrow would be fine. What do you think?"
"You're deciding so quickly?" Hall Master Wan seemed a bit surprised but smiled even more. "Good, I didn't misjudge you."
"Since this kid trusts me."
"Alright."
"The contract terms remain unchanged." Hall Master Wan thought for a moment and added, "I'll personally sponsor him one million Blue Star Coins and throw in another million points."
"Haha, as expected of a hall master, generous as always," Xu Bo laughed. "One million points can be worth as much as a million Blue Star Coins outside."
"Before you left, you praised this kid so much. If he caught your eye, I believe it," Hall Master Wan said with a faint smile. "Besides, you know these points don't mean much to me; giving them to anyone is the same."
"Good."
"Then I'll thank you on behalf of Li Yuan," Xu Bo said with a smile. "Don't worry; this kid is grateful and won't let you down."
Hall Master Wan smiled.
"I have a dinner to attend tonight... Let's set the signing time for tomorrow morning at ten," he thought for a moment and said. "You can give your student half a day off; is that okay?"
"Of course," Xu Bo replied with a smile.
After that, the two ended the call.
"Li Yuan, did you hear everything clearly?" Xu Bo looked at Li Yuan and smiled. "The points are for internal circulation within the Starfire Martial Hall and can be exchanged for many good things. One million points are worth at least one million Blue Star Coins."
"Thank you, Teacher," Li Yuan said sincerely, having listened to their conversation.
If it weren't for Xu Bo's efforts to make him look good, he probably wouldn't have received this benefit.
"Thank me for what?"
"Isn't it a teacher's duty to think of their students?" Xu Bo waved his hand and smiled. "If not, why would I become a teacher?"
"Helping you also requires you to have the ability," Xu Bo laughed. "Haven't eaten yet, have you?"
"Let's go eat first."
"Tomorrow for the signing, come to school first. I'll go with you."
P.S.: I've been trying my best to update. Since starting this book on March 1, I've been averaging over 7,000 words a day. I can't say it's unique on the platform, but it should be in the top 5%. Throughout this new book period, I've been updating right on the edge of the new book rankings.
So far, this book has set a new high in my writing career, a height I never thought I could reach. Thank you all for your support.
Tomorrow, I will maintain three chapters of updates.
We need to push hard until the 20th for a launch event, and if successful, it will be a milestone in my writing career.
However, the event has very high requirements for readers, which is quite exaggerated, but our current data does show hope.
Reader support will determine everything for this new book.
I hope everyone can help out during this time; I will do my best to keep updating.
Thank you all for your support!
