“Did I see that right? Li Yuan's physical constitution is level 6.5? That’s an increase of 0.5 levels since the end of June?”
“In less than three months, he improved by 0.5 levels?”
“The current top martial arts student, Lin Lanyue, who is rumored to have a chance at Starry Sky University, didn’t improve this fast.”
“Is the instrument broken?”
“We only see the school use it, not fix it. If it’s broken, that’s normal.” Over a hundred students were shocked, their eyes darting between Li Yuan and the screen.
Most of them understood that the chance of the instrument being broken was almost zero.
The key point was that Li Yuan’s improvement was indeed astonishing.
In the elite class, even students with awakened martial spirits and good family backgrounds couldn’t improve at such a crazy rate.
“I’ve been working so hard lately, spending my holiday in the training room, taking all kinds of supplements, and my physical constitution barely reached level 6.0. I thought I could close the gap with Li Yuan.” Wan Xiao, who was as big as a bear, couldn’t help but think, “But instead, the gap got bigger?”
The two had a good relationship, and Wan Xiao always saw Li Yuan as his goal, hoping to catch up to him.
“6.5! Brother Yuan, you’re amazing!” Zhou Qi couldn’t help but shout, instinctively feeling happy for Li Yuan.
Ten meters away.
“6.5? How can Li Yuan’s improvement be so fast?” Teacher Xu Bo was also a bit unsettled.
Today’s test showed that Li Yuan hadn’t awakened his martial spirit, which disappointed him a little.
Wan Xiao awakening his martial spirit was a pleasant surprise.
Now, Li Yuan’s physical constitution level was the real shock.
“If he had awakened his martial spirit and practiced an advanced cultivation method, improving by 0.5 levels in less than three months wouldn’t be too rare… but he just tested at noon and clearly hasn’t awakened his martial spirit.” Teacher Xu Bo thought about various possibilities: “Moreover, he hasn’t had time to cultivate.”
As a ranked martial artist who had fought in the military, Xu Bo’s perspective was beyond what students could reach.
In just a few seconds, he thought of multiple possibilities.
“Li Yuan.” Teacher Xu Bo’s voice was low: “Let’s not rush to test your technique level. First, go on the track and test your burst speed, then we’ll measure your punching power again.”
“Okay.” Li Yuan nodded, understanding Teacher Xu’s intention.
The life energy testing device has a very low error rate, but there are ways to trick its sensing system and distort the data.
There’s a possibility of cheating.
But the speed and strength a person can unleash cannot be faked.
“This is going to be a comprehensive test.”
“Looks like Teacher Xu isn’t completely sure either.”
“How fast can Li Yuan’s burst speed reach?”
“Hard to say. The life energy testing device shows comprehensive data, and everyone’s situation is different. Even if two people have the same physical constitution level, some might be faster, some stronger, and some more enduring.” The students whispered among themselves, most of them focused on the test.
They were all curious.
If Li Yuan’s physical constitution was truly 6.5, how high would he rank in martial arts across the entire grade?
“Access granted, begin burst speed test and punching power test, recording.” Teacher Xu Bo’s voice was cold, and a red light flashed from his wrist.
“Buzz~” A white light projected from above the classroom, illuminating a long dark red metal track about 40 meters long on the left side of the classroom.
There were also many faint lights flickering above the track.
This was why the martial arts classroom occupied such a large area.
A lot of technology used to test physical data takes up space.
The elite class’s martial arts classroom was even larger, resembling a small gym.
“Testing burst speed?” Li Yuan placed his large gun on the silver metal ground and walked to the track entrance, taking a deep breath to calm himself.
Speed testing isn’t just about sprinting.
During the martial arts college entrance exam, tests are conducted for 40 meters, 100 meters, 1 kilometer, and 10 kilometers in order.
The highest score comes from the 40-meter speed test, followed by the 10-kilometer long run.
One tests instant burst speed, the other tests endurance.
“In martial combat, often just a few moves or even a single encounter can decide life or death, so instant burst speed is crucial.” Li Yuan quickly adjusted his state: “But in war, you often face more than one enemy, and battles can last a long time, so endurance is also important.”
Li Yuan understood that the projects in the martial arts college entrance exam were closely related to war.
In this era, human civilization on Blue Star and the seven major planets faces a huge survival crisis.
War is the main theme of society.
Huff!
Using breathing techniques to adjust himself, with each breath, Li Yuan quickly relaxed. His spiritual power was strong enough to subtly sense the beating of his organs, the gentle flow of blood from his heart, and the strength coursing through his limbs.
In the next moment!
“Boom!” Li Yuan’s entire body tightened like a bowstring pulled back, his strength transferring from his waist and hips directly to his legs, propelling him forward like an arrow released from a bow.
The source of strength lies in the feet, starting from the legs.
The explosive power from his thighs was much stronger than from other parts of his body.
Whoosh!
In just a few seconds, Li Yuan dashed across the 40-meter track, crashing into the cushioned wall at the end.
The cushioned wall was like a sponge, but made from special materials designed by the school to protect students.
Tick!
On the screen on the wall at the end of the track, data appeared—“14.2 meters/second.”
This was Li Yuan’s finishing speed, not his average speed.
“Wow, that’s fast.”
“It seems Li Yuan’s physical constitution really has reached 6.5.” The students watching exchanged glances, completely convinced.
They all knew that Li Yuan practiced the Basic Cultivation Method called Rock Foundation Cultivation Method, which is known for its focus on strength.
If Li Yuan’s speed was this fast, how strong was he?
“14.2 meters/second? Not bad.” Teacher Xu Bo nodded slightly and said, “Let’s test your punching power next.”
The punching power test area was much smaller, located in a corner of the classroom, not very noticeable.
Li Yuan stood in the testing area.
A few white beams of light projected down from the overhead device, enveloping Li Yuan to check if his movements were standard and qualified.
The punching power test isn’t about maximum explosive power; it measures the strongest force that can be exerted with one arm while maintaining balance.
If you can’t even keep your stance steady while punching, then no matter how strong the force, it’s meaningless. In a life-or-death battle, you’d just give the enemy a chance to kill you.
“Relax first.” Li Yuan adjusted his breathing, gradually loosening his tense body. He spread his feet apart, bending his knees slightly to generate more push when he punched.
Then, at the moment of exhaling, Li Yuan’s spine twisted like a great dragon. He stepped slightly with his left foot, pushed off with his right foot, and through his waist and abdomen, he instantly activated the strength from his waist and back, transferring all his power from the ground up to his right arm.
His fingers formed a fist!
His right fist struck the giant sandbag hanging in front of him like a cannonball.
“Bang!” A deep, thunderous sound echoed.
In an instant.
The screen above the punching power test area clearly displayed: “424 kilograms (movement qualified).”
“Wow!”
“424 kilograms! Amazing!”
“With this punching power, he’s not far from the standard for level 7 physical constitution. I remember the standard for level 7 is a punching power of 450 kilograms.” The students around were in an uproar, completely stunned by Li Yuan.
Martial arts isn’t just about health; the data from the life energy testing device is always just a reference.
What really counts is how it performs in actual combat.
Across Blue Star and the Seven Star Alliance, there are strict classifications for the explosive speed and punching power corresponding to physical constitution levels:
Level 5: 10 meters/second, punching power 200 kilograms
Level 6: 13 meters/second; punching power 300 kilograms
Level 7: 15 meters/second, punching power 450 kilograms
Level 8: 18 meters/second; punching power 800 kilograms
Level 9: 20 meters/second, punching power 1000 kilograms
…
Although personal talent differences and cultivation methods can lead to variations, the differences from the standard levels aren’t usually too great.
Li Yuan’s life energy testing device showed 6.5, and his burst speed was within the normal range.
But his punching power was very close to the level 7 standard.
“I’m still a bit short of 300 kilograms in my punching power.” Wan Xiao instinctively tightened his grip on his battle knife: “Has the gap between me and Li Yuan grown this big?”
“Practicing tightness within looseness, using looseness within tightness, and only true tightness can unleash fierce and powerful strikes. This student of mine seems to have grasped the essence of the Basic Cultivation Method.” Teacher Xu Bo had keen insight and recognized the principle.
It’s hard for normal people to unleash all their physical strength; being able to exert ninety percent is already quite good.
You must understand how to channel all your strength and condense it to unleash one hundred percent of your power.
Li Yuan had clearly done this.
“Not bad.” Teacher Xu Bo rarely showed a hint of a smile.
This scene left many students secretly amazed.
It’s worth noting that when Wan Xiao awakened his martial spirit, Teacher Xu Bo didn’t smile.
Li Yuan listened to the voices around him, appearing calm on the surface, but feeling a bit dissatisfied inside.
“According to the Divine Palace Panel, my instant burst speed should reach 14.4 meters/second, and my maximum punching power should be 426 kilograms.” Li Yuan frowned slightly: “It seems I still haven’t perfectly unleashed my physical constitution.”
At this moment.
In Li Yuan’s line of sight, there was a nearly transparent light curtain that others couldn’t perceive, only he could see.
——
[Life Level: 6.6 (Not Ranked)]
Physical Constitution Index: 72 (a comprehensive assessment of explosive power, endurance, speed, physique, spiritual power, and more.)
Punching Power: 426 kilograms
Speed: 14.4 meters/second
Spiritual Power: 12.4
Body Cultivation Method: Rock Foundation Cultivation Method
Spiritual Cultivation Method: Great Sun Starry Sky Sutra
Skill Levels: Spear Technique (Stage 3, 36%), Movement Technique (Stage 3, 21%), Fist Technique (Stage 3, 88%)
[Note: Contains a hidden unawakened high-level spirit.]
——
This entire light curtain appears before Li Yuan whenever he focuses his mind, clearly displaying his martial arts cultivation.
This awakened suddenly after Li Yuan’s physical constitution reached level 5.0 in his second year of high school.
At first, Li Yuan thought it was similar to the ‘system’ or ‘data panel’ he had seen in some novels.
Later, after repeated trials, he confirmed that the light curtain itself only had detection functions, like a highly precise ‘cultivation testing device.’
It couldn’t directly enhance Li Yuan’s martial arts cultivation.
“However, the Great Sun Starry Sky Sutra brought by the Divine Palace has already given me significant help,” Li Yuan silently thought.
While pondering.
Li Yuan returned to the silver metal ground and picked up his black large gun.
His gaze fell on Teacher Xu Bo ten meters away, and the panel in front of him changed, displaying a line of text:
[Target’s life level exceeds sensing limit (current life level sensing limit is 16.6)]
“Teacher Xu, please guide me.” Li Yuan first cupped his hands in respect, then suddenly dashed forward, crossing several meters in an instant, and with a burst of power, his long gun shot forward like a dragon, tearing through the air towards Xu Bo.
“Hmm? This spear technique!” Xu Bo’s eyes lit up completely.
