The dark clouds let out a quiet meow: “The Emperor says, Jing Dynasty definitely wants to exchange the Grand Secretary Yuan Cheng back. The Yuan family nobles in the capital won’t allow Yuan Cheng to be humiliated in the Ning Dynasty. It’s either war or a personnel swap. The envoy is probably already on the way… The Emperor says, Yuan Cheng must be returned to Jing Dynasty, to balance the influence of Chancellor Yuan Xiang and Vice Military Secretary Lu Jin.”
“The Emperor says, watch out for military commanders trying to kill the envoy. The Wan Sui Army, the Five Camp Brigade, and the border forces are all hawkish. If they kill the envoy, there will be great chaos. But he hasn’t decided who to send to Chongli Pass to escort the envoy to the capital. This matter must be kept secret.”
“Not only the military commanders want to kill the envoy, but the Military Intelligence Division under Lu Jin will surely try every means to kill both the envoy and Yuan Cheng. This trip is dangerous; some of the Twelve Zodiac agents will secretly follow.”
Inside the Renshou Palace, the court ministers stood with lowered heads, while the dark clouds freely passed on this secret information.
Even the Jing Dynasty’s Military Intelligence had exhausted their efforts but never managed to place a spy near the Ning Emperor — yet he had accomplished that.
