“Father.”
Cheon Ji-won, who had been waiting for Cheon Su-man at the airport, waved his hand.
“Let’s head straight to the hospital.”
“Yes.”
“And Ji-soo?”
“I told her not to come.”
As they climbed into the car Cheon Ji-won had arrived in and started moving, Cheon Su-man spoke first.
“The air in Korea really is good.”
“You’ll have to come back once Grandfather passes.”
“I will. How is the old man?”
“He’s senile. He couldn’t even recognize me properly. Thought I was you, calling me Su-man.”
“That old man… Always acting so tough. Why did he treat us so harshly, when this is how it ends? No wonder he’s in such a state in his final years.”
Cheon Su-man clicked his tongue. He seemed utterly unconcerned about Chairman Cheon’s wellbeing.
“What about that bastard Mu-hyeok?”
“Like I said before, he’s not the same boy you remember. His connections are incredible. Even maternal grandfather is careful around him.”
Cheon Ji-won explained how much Kim Mu-hyeok’s standing had changed while his father was in Australia, but Cheon Su-man only scoffed.
“That’s all the old man’s halo, nothing else.”
“I suppose so.”
“What about the thing I asked you to look into?”
“Ilseong said they’d attach their legal team as soon as his condition is confirmed. But you told me to turn that down, so I’ve already set up a meeting with the Daeseoyang law firm instead.”
