The Great Golden Mountain Temple opened its gates wide.
Xuan Cang, together with a group of young nobles who were on friendly terms with him, personally came to offer congratulations — and conveniently donated a huge sum of incense money.
Ling Wuyou, the emperor of the Xuan Dynasty who had just expanded his realm by more than double, came with a massive ceremonial retinue to curry favor.
This emperor, clever in such matters, did not use storage rings; instead he had porter after porter carry racks of gifts into the Great Golden Mountain Temple.
For this visit to “offer to the Buddha,” Ling Wuyou mobilized 360,000 porters, eighteen thousand racks of gifts in total, all piled with rare materials, spirit medicines and immortal herbs, finished pills, and all manner of completed cultivation implements.
With Ling Wuyou taking the lead, old friends under the Xuan Dynasty like Lord Zhu Zizhen of Qingyun and the rulers of hundreds of vassal states naturally did not dare be lax.
They either came in person or sent princes to present countless incense donations.
Towns and villages around the Great Golden Mountain Temple were packed with people, crowds streaming in to see the spectacle.
