Eternal Night of Dread

Chapter 78 Author's Note

3 min read

Before the last conclusion of the previous book, I actually planned to take a month off before starting a new one.

Friends who are familiar with me should know that my depression has been diagnosed as bipolar disorder, and during that time, I changed my medication, which left my mental state in poor condition.

However, after discussing with my doctor, he advised me not to settle down, saying that most of my issues stemmed from mental distress.

Settling down could lead to overthinking, which would negatively impact my condition.

Therefore, whatever I do in my daily life, it’s best to continue as is.

I also discussed my profession with the doctor.

Originally, I intended to continue exploring a new genre that I was not familiar with.

I had planned to write a historical novel, set in the late Southern Song Dynasty, where the protagonist would traverse into the body of a mountain bandit, equipped with skills from Heroes of Might and Magic III (not a template, just skills; the protagonist would possess an intermediate morale skill, and there would be no points to allocate or growth).

The story would revolve around overturning the Yuan Dynasty.

However, following the doctor's advice, I ultimately decided to return to my comfort zone and write a book that I could handle with ease.

Thus, "Eternal Night of Torment" came into being, a story of infinite flow.

This book can be considered my self-healing work.

It will be available on the 17th at midnight.

Due to the previous Empress Dowager Cixi incident, I don’t have much stockpiled, as friends in the Alliance Leader group and subscription group are aware.

If there is an outburst, I will first release the nine chapters for the Silver Alliance, followed by an additional chapter for each Alliance Leader.

I will try my best to repay one additional chapter for each Alliance Leader daily, aiming to repay all additional chapters within this month.

Any further outbursts will depend on my stockpile and personal situation.

Additionally, I want to vent a little; perhaps I really am getting old, as I feel unable to keep up with the current pace.

Since starting this book, many people haven’t read a single chapter and have directly criticized my book title, my protagonist's name, and my book's synopsis, bluntly stating, "Trash, not reading."

Well, I can only silently ban them.

The current trend seems to be that the book title serves as the synopsis; nearly ninety percent of books have long, lengthy titles, and the synopsis is merely a setting, almost begging for a ten-thousand-word synopsis.

The golden three chapters are already outdated; now it’s all about the super diamond chapter, with an ultra-fast pace, which has truly left me bewildered.

Shouldn’t a book be about slowly and gradually telling an interesting story?

I genuinely lack confidence in the beginning of a book and do not know how to manage it, so I can only leave the results to fate.

After much thought, I believe it’s best to focus on content.

For this book, I will try not to overdo it and will write according to the outline, slowly unfolding the story.

Friends with money, please support financially; friends without money, please support with your presence.

On the 17th at midnight, I will first release three chapters.

I ask for subscriptions, monthly tickets, and rewards.

So, dear new friends and old friends, let me slowly tell this story.

This is a tale of an ordinary man.
