“Life and death, to us, hold little meaning,” Wansheng Tianzun continued, his dozens of eyes radiating a gentle light.
“Existence or non-existence, that is the foundation of everything for us.”
“Does that mean, as long as I’m still alive, still existing, you will never perish?” Yu Hong asked in a deep voice.
“In theory, yes, if everything remains intact and present,” Wansheng Tianzun smiled faintly.
“What do you mean? I don’t understand.” A sense of unease rose within Yu Hong.
“You will understand in time. For now, you shouldn’t stay here any longer. Leave. The Formless Belt is not a place for someone like you to linger yet,” Wansheng Tianzun said gently.
“But I have nowhere to go. Behind me is the Great Extinction—no path to retreat,” Yu Hong said deeply.
“That may be our fate. Neither we nor the Star Gods have reached the end of the Source Calamity. Perhaps, it has no end at all.” Wansheng Tianzun writhed his body slowly, approaching a flowing stream of purple-black water.
He extended a short, stubby leg to touch the purplish-black flow.
“This world still holds a side we cannot see. That side is so complex, so brilliant and magnificent. A pity.”
